About my experience with Web Design:

When I was approached to create this website, I did not know what I might have gotten myself into. Prior to this, the only web design I got myself into was creating a simple webpage for a class in college that displayed my name and what class I signed up for. Also, knowing the client for as many years as I have, I knew that the standard for excellence was going to be very high. But, at the same time, it provided me with an opportunity to dive into something that I’ve always been interested in doing.

So, after a long meeting in Mount Prospect, my task was set, and it was time to go to work. After a couple hours of research, I was able to pick a host, create and design the structure and flow of the site. All that was necessary was the content, which was provided and posted to the pages required.

My biggest takeaway from doing this has been not only the experience and knowledge that I obtained through this, but the most fun that I have had in being able to be creative and have my work show for all to see.

About being a “Dance Party Enthusiast”:

When I was introduced to the concept of “Dance Party”, I had no idea what it was all about. Boy, was I in for a wake up call.

On a calm October night in 2011, I arrived at what is now the epicenter of the Dance Party Experience, Senor’s Dance Castle. About an hour into the night, what I was about to see forever changed me. Once the dancing and singing started, I sat there, watching and observing, wondering what I was supposed to do. Was I to join in? Was my job to watch and observe? Why was there a mandolin being strummed to Lady Gaga? Many questions were going through my mind, but all it took for them to be answered was one simple Tupperware bowl filled with rice. I was handed this “vessel” and told to join in. So, I joined in, and was forever changed…

For the next two years, after many of dance parties, my job of playing a mean maraca evolved into Senior Dance Coach, to which the evolution of “Sexy Kitty” came about. Trust me, you’ll enjoy a little “Sexy Kitty” in your day.

About my DJ Life:

The concept of Milky Mike started in the spring 0f 1999.  Away at Western Illinois University, a couple of friends of mine started DJ’ing on their own, and I got interested.  My vast love for music also helped in my curiosity for this.  So, they showed me the ropes, and I made my first investment into this art.  From there, with constant practicing, listening, and attempting to perfect the craft, the rest was history.

My gigs that I have done over the years have involved fraternity parties, graduation parties, block parties, weddings, public events, and even a one night stint as the lead DJ at a bar in Macomb, IL.

Nowadays, I still continue to DJ weddings and block parties as opportunities arise.  I also dove into the art of mixing, which has been the most fun out of all.  This has allowed me to explore the creative side of DJ’ing, creating and perfecting transitions to blend songs together into great pieces of work.
